love
but what of love writes storybook in her ilog
...of all the assumptions given in relationships love is perhaps the most flawed...over-indulged, over-stated, blown, least understood, undeveloped...strike the last and replace it with not allowed to grow properly...love is the catalyst that makes the relationship whirl and dance without music and audience...love is the cement that holds grumpiness and minor irritations at bay...love is the balm of caring and understanding always handy...love is caring the other partner than the one you see in the mirror, always!...love is sacrifice...true love is selfless be it sufi love of God or temporal...love is denying...giving in...love is appreciating the other...
...i do make it sound so unglamorous and unromantic
...but
...too often ...love dwindles down more to love for the self ...for other things, projects, deadlines...the other partner is relegated to a secondary position patiently bidding his/her time...
and
...too often after the last shehnai is packed away and the last video cables have been picked up the relationship sets a straight course for the rocks...sometimes to flounder on strange coasts....sometimes to be marred and damaged so that the ship can only coast shallow waters for its existence...too often sailing for the rest of its determined existence based on considerations other than love...like for the sake of children, society, (zaalim samaaj, yeh dunya)...economics...
and thus flounders the union of two human beings yet again...a timeless tale...familiar, doomed and ordained to be repeated again and...when will we ever learn...why don't we learn?...
...merrily whirling away...smiling and thanking Allah...
yours in all humility...
