this should not be our dilemma
it is our eternal strive
between life and heart-mind
that is the antecedent

pehla sha'er

zaroorat hay
ik khushk farsh ki
tun dhapnay, pait bharnay ki
n'janay phir bhee kyuN jamhoor
fiq't waa'douN hee say
behlai jatay haiN

doosra sha'er

dou roti, dou chader
ik chath kas sawal hee nahiN
qissa hay yeh oos kashmakash ka
azul say jo hay jaari
hayat aur khalish e dil kay darmiaN
