After the statistics and numbers this from Farrukh Saleem: Now that America firmed up its resolve to touch the hearts of poor Pakistanis -- through the Kerry-Lugar Aid Package -- the elites are feeling left-off. For the first time, in the 60-year history of US-Pakistan relations America wants to build hospitals and schools. For the first time, in the 60-year history of US-Pakistan relations America wants to give to Pakistan's civil society. And, the civil-military elite are feeling left-off. Is this the great American failure in Pakistan -- did America fail to plan in Pakistan or did it plan to fail?

Punjab home department letter had quoted intelligence gathered by it had revealed that terrorists belonging to the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), in collaboration with the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LJ) and the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JM), were planning to attack the General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi. into the compound by scaling/using a ladder. They may then move to the central
building of the GHQ and resort to indiscriminate firing, which may result in bloodshed,” the intelligence report, which was published by The News, had warned.
