Losing life and martyrdom

According to a PAF spokesman a pilot lost his life and according to Geo News the pilot embraced martyrdom.

We have this knee-jerk capacity to refer to the dead as Shaheeds.

That is an exalted station reserved for deserving ones. Not every dead person is a shaheed.
