 confronting the waves

crumbles under the dark onslaught
of thunderous downpour
the cherished dwelling of my dreams
resting in a watery grave

to reclaim those dreams
brick by brick
from the debris
must strive ingeniously

in spite of ceaseless rummaging
have gathered shards
few fragments of waterlogged truth
a lifetime of work cutout
