broken brick
now lying shattered
on the ground
had witnessed dastaans

once it was set
in a house
where children frolicked
lovers glanced shyly
argued and made up
families moved in
                         and out

after the last family left
(they whispered ethnic cleansing)
house was abandoned
nature took over
the house unraveled
