Palestinian orgs: Justice delayed is justice denied, Taylor Marsh, Goldstone Report, So you want to be a journalist

Palestinian orgs: Justice delayed is justice denied -On 2 October 2009, the Palestinian leadership -- under heavy international pressure lead by the United States -- deferred the draft proposal at the Human Rights Council endorsing all the recommendations of the UN Fact Finding Mission (the Goldstone Report). This deferral denies the Palestinian peoples' right to an effective judicial remedy and the equal protection of the law. It represents the triumph of politics over human rights. It is an insult to all victims and a rejection of their rights.

Taylor Marsh: What Next In Afghanistan? By Taylor Marsh - I have no idea to whom the "sources close to the Administration" refers in this UK article, but a headline screaming "Barack Obama furious at General Stanley McChrystal" seems to come backed with it's own agenda, if you ask me. Everyone is meeting, listening and thinking about Afghanistan. From the President meeting with McChrystal to Clinton meeting with the Administration's AfPak team, and beyond, everyone is bearing down to get to an answer. Peter W. Garbraith, the newly sacked U.N. representative for Afghanistan having more thoughts on the issues. I spent the late afternoon on Friday at the New America Foundation continuing to gather information from experts on Afghanistan, this time Peter Bergen hosting David Loyn, solidifying my thinking on what is the smartest way forward, based on information I've accumulated and digested. One thing is certain, it's time for Pres. Obama and his national security team to make a decision. The word "dithering" ricocheting everywhere to describe the Administration's lack of decision making. It's also clear that Biden's plan is not the answer. However, neither is McChrystal's request for 40,000 troops.

UN Must Immediately Adopt and Act on Goldstone Report - By Omar Barghouti
Palestinian civil society has strongly and almost unanimously condemned the Palestinian Authority's latest decision to delay adoption by the UN Human Rights Council of the report prepared by the UN Fact-Finding Mission, headed by justice Richard Goldstone, into the recent Israeli war of aggression against the Palestinian people in the occupied Gaza Strip. A common demand in almost all Palestinian statements issued in this respect was for the UN to adopt the report and act without undue delay on its recommendations in order to bring an end to Israel's criminal impunity and to hold it accountable before international law for its war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Gaza and, indeed, all over the occupied Palestinian territory.

Sara-Ellen Amster, Ph.D.: So You Want To Be a Journalist? - If they want to stick with their profession, young journalists must grow accustomed to the fact that most people still can't stand them -- often they tell people what they don't want to hear.
