THE Bill - Ayaz Amir, Ejaz Haider, Cyril Almeida, Harris Khalique, Syed Kamal 1937-2009, Rukhsana,

Ayaz Amir asks: But for this we need something better than the pathetic team at the helm which is merely adding to our woes. Will Prime Minister Gilani have someone read the small print of Kerry-Lugar to him? Will the National Assembly wake up? And will the PML-N get its act together? My uneducated guess is no, no and no to thewse queries. I stand to be corrected ~~~t

and Ejaz Haider's response to the bill: Between quitting and maximum response there are options that can be utilised. But will we? No prizes for guessing the course Pakistan will take.

Going forward, what that really calls for is a serious, measured, thoughtful debate about our approach to the US specifically and our grand, national security and national military strategies generally. But don’t bet on that happening. Remember, we don’t let the facts get in the way of a good debate. Cyril Almeida

"No one smiles in Karachi any more. No one trusts anyone. There is apathy, bleak apathy. People are ready to pick a fight all the time. They feel helpless and exploited. But at the same time the same people spare no chance to swindle and cheat. Corruption is rampant. Education is worthless. I feel worried, depressed and very sad." Harris Khalique quoting his friend.

Bernie Goldberg Criticizes Fox News On "O'Reilly Factor" (VIDEO) -By The Huffington Post News Editors - Bernard Goldberg, a media critic who often appears on "The O'Reilly Factor" and can reliably be called upon to defend the cable channel against accusations of bias, unexpectedly said the network is responsible for some (although not much) of the criticism it receives, particularly during the promotion of the tea parties.

None of the Obama administration's banking reforms help middle-class Americans. By Eliot Spitzer on the best policy - The Obama administration, which has spent much of the past year bailing out banks and protecting the markets, has done shockingly little to help the middle class that has borne the brunt of the financial meltdown. Two acts are particularly revealing. First, the administration failed to go to the mat to give judges the power to reform mortgages in the bankruptcy context. The administration barely winced as the Senate caved to the banks on this critical issue, risking no political capital to protect one of the few reforms that could have totally transformed the mortgage crisis. As the foreclosure wave continues, and as adjustable-rate mortgages hit reset points that are going to cause havoc for millions of additional families, this failure of political leadership by the administration stands as one of the early warning signs that things were amiss.
