President Asif Zadari directs setting of Jail reforms committee
KARACHI, April 20 (APP)‑ President Asif Ali Zardari has directed the Sindh Government to setup a Reform Committee for jails. This was disclosed by Sindh Senior Minister, Pir Mazharul Huq in Sindh Assembly after question hour here on Monday.
It was during this hour that questions relating to Home and Jail departments were asked.
He pointed out that accomodation in jails has become limited and President has directed vertical expansion of the jails, after taking all care about security aspects.
Pir Mazhar said that in view of non‑availabiility of space, prisoners are rather thursted in the jails.
